Safety tips for the backyard king: How to barbecue safely

Tomorrow its time for all backyard ava-kings to take charge of their domain; The BBQ. Gases will flow, burners will ignite and steaks simmer. Savory aromas will drift down the street beckoning neighbors from around the grid.

But since we really care about you (and our sim) we have decided to provide you with some proper BBQ safety guidelines/rules so tomorrows BBQ wont turn into a disaster:

1) Perform routine inspections of tubes and hoses. Check for cracks, holes and signs of wear. Immediately replace any/all defective tubes and hoses.

2) Never use the grill on a balcony, carport, garage, or inside the party tents.

3) We wont allow matches, lighted cigarettes, joints or waterpipes near the gas grills. This poses a serious explosion threat, even if you are Dutch. We will temporarily ban every ava immediately if we find any backyard king ava smoking a joint near the gasgrills!

5) Never store containers filled with flammable liquids such as gasoline or booze near the grills.

6) If the chicken or pork are frozen, make sure its properly defrosted. A badly defrosted chicken can be ready on the outside but raw on the inside and will be full of pathogen bacteriums. We have lots of toilets behind the party tents but....have you ever queued while having diarrhea?

Please read these guidelines carefully. Violations against these rules will turn into a temporarily banning from Icehotel SL.

This time the party will take place near the orangery, pretty close where the trekking route starts. A BBQ will ofcourse be under open-air, but we have ofcourse bought some rain proof party tents. Ewa, who master the the weather thingie on the island predicts heavy rain...


The bag-in-box wines (very common in Sweden, the loin of pork is marinated, the potato sallad has been delivered from Coop and the northern Swedish mosquitoes are ready for you!

Lost in SL!

Well we were not really this lost as the poor moose bull on the pick but close....Oh my, the gods from San Fransico dont treat us good right now. I am talking ofcourse about the viewer that is everything but stable...hehe

Earlier today when I was going to Roslagen (a lovely place here is the Slurl http://slurl.com/secondlife/Roslagen/121/176/25) to fix an advert sign (Thankies Bail) the chaos started....big time....

When I was going to TP Ewa there, she ended up in a BDSM mall(!), hope you bought something intersting babe! And right after when she was trying to TP me to SHoS, I ended up in our bedroom... haha and the troubles continued all day:) Half of Ewas wedding ring is gone...and so on

Anyhow, we had a great time at our own club with friends! See you all same time next Sunday!

Midsummer Eve in SL

Friday June 19 - 22:00 (1 PM SLT)


In modern Sweden, Midsummer's Eve is celebrated on the second to last Friday and in June. It is arguably the most important holiday of the year, and one of the most uniquely Swedish in the way it is celebrated, even if it has been influenced by other countries long ago. The main celebrations take place on the Friday, and the traditional events include raising and dancing around a huge maypole. One typical dance is the frog dance. Before the maypole is raised, greens and flowers are collected and used to cover the entire pole


Sounds a bit odd huh? Well it is very odd indeed and now you got the chance to celebrate this in Second Life. Right now, in front of the SecondHouse of Sweden a little traditional Swedish outdoor dance floor being built, a maypole is going to be raised, market booths going to be out placed…and much more.

Tina (PetGirl) Bergman, Ewa Aska and I are organizing this event for everyone in Second Life.

The celebration starts at 01.00 PM SLT and continues through the whole magical Swedish Midsummer Eve night, a night when the sun doesn’t set.

Ikaros String (DJ ) starts the party incl ring dances at 1 PM (22.00 CET) - 2 PM (23.00 CET)

Bara Johnson – a fantastic Swedish live artist recongnised from both RL and SL will play at 2 PM (23.00 CET) - 2.30 PM (23.30 CET

Evergreens with Carmen Roeth

As I told you earlier Ewa and I were at the Wiseguys club yesterday and we found Carmen Roeth singing there. Ofcourse we wanna share this singbird with you so today we booked her for a show at the ballroom at the Icehotel. Carmen will sing some evergreens for us and afterwards I will DJ my fav evergreens (no trance this time I promise hehe) and Ewa will decorate the place, in her own unique way.

Carmen was born and raised in the Netherlands (she says her heart dwells in Belgium).
She started singing at age 13 with her father's band.

After 22 years as a professional singer she is now gracing the Second Life Community with her beautiful voice. Her material includes many genres of music for your listening, dancing, and romancing pleasure.

Yesterday was the start of the decorations. Ewa got her broadband back and started to decorated the Midsummer Eve festival ground, built by PetGirl Bergman. The two ladies complained loudly about lack of drinks so I did some snaps (Moonshined ofcourse, hey the Icehotel sim where i live is located in the northern Sweden where moonshined booze is a major part of the balanced diet)

Tina, the big city girl, fall unconscious behind on of the sheds, alcoholic intoxicanated, but her doctor told me this morning she will be up and running later today. Thank Heavens! I wont publish those disgusting pics of you Tina, dont worry:)

After building and decorating, totally rat-arsed, Ewa and I went to se Elvera Lerner and Carmen Roeth at the Wiseguys Club. A lovely day and a night!

Whats goin on at Second House of Sweden??!!!

Well a mysterious pic was dropped on my ava today, and as far as I know its the Second House of Sweden build...and a Midsummer Pole...hmmmm isnt that a bit early to raise the pole today? Midsummer Eve is according to my almanac on Friday June 19th...hmm TBC... and who is that little person on the stage? Has the ambassador (Olle Wästberg) converted to a Tiny? Is the Swedish Government informed?

The show must go on!

Yesterday I was visiting TSMGO´s Flea Circus and it was so fun and well-choreographed!

The sketch with the male ava who got pregnant by having sex with a tip-jar(!) was totally priceless!

And the tribute to SL escorts...haha..still laughing here!

Dont disturb, mixing tunes for midsummer

Ewa and I havent been treated in the best way recently (disabled accounts etc). Both of us have strong nerves, hard skin and stubborn minds so we dont care much:)

Yesterday we went, as we often do, to The Second Life Opera House to see Cindy Ecksol who played a set of waltzes from a variety of musical traditions we were abit surprised when we saw this:

Anyhow, it was a lovely concert and a great memory in many ways haha.

If you havent been to The Second Life Opera House you better go there. Its not just opera, the repertoire is really wide and the arrangements are topclass!
