3 x ABBA Sweden on Second Pride

By reason of new construction it has been so quiet about ABBA Sweden. Outwardly anyway.

Beneath the surface it has been of course a frenitic work with bookings of shows. We have a packed schedule ahead, and an extra fun booking is the Secon Pride on 5 June. Then we will play in prime time in three different time zones. We will play at 8 pm in Europe, USA and Australia.

This Thursday, we may play at the Beacon Hotel. Time will be announced later!

Grand Opening!

Grand Opening!

Yesterday we crawled around on all fours, looking for cracks. It is both boring and exhausting and especially for your pixel knees! Of course, we use pants with knee pads.

But now it actually starts to become finsihed. We have a few days left, then it's time for the Grand Opening!

You will end up in the Blue Hall and here you tp down to Kit Kat Klub. The show starts at 02:00 PM.

Then it's off up to the Blue Hall where the party continues with live music and big fun.

Noma

Yesterday our own little Noma Falta visited Club Copenhagen and it she did as always a lovely concert!

It felt like many of our Icehotel members had never heard Noma before. And there is of course particularly satisfying when we can introducing something "new" to our in-world group.

Noma brought old memories to Ewa and me, which meant that we ended the evening in Barcelona and Apollo:)

And we had magical night!

Vår egen Noma Falta!

Det finns såklart massor av människor som man har speciella relationer till. För Ewa och mig är Noma en sådan.

Innan vi blev ett par, så hände det att vi tillsammans åkte och lyssnade på denna bluesdrottning. Vänskap uppstod och när jag friade till Ewa så var det självklart att Noma och Izi (Kys skat, vi tänker på dig varje dag) var våra vittnen. Vi fyra hade fantastiskt kul på vår balkong den där morgonen den 2 nov 2008!

Ewa och jag ser åtminstone en konsert i veckan med vår Noma! Och det är alltid lika bra och lika kul! Dessutom har hon alltid en massa roliga rl minnen från Sverige som hon bjuder på.

När vi gifte oss några månader senare var det självklart att Noma ville spela och likaså när vi firade ett år osv.

Ja ni förstår, vi har en superstark och underbar relation!

Men av någon förunderlig anledning har Noma aldrig spelat ”officiellt” hos oss MEN nu på lördag är det äntligen dags!

A salsa upside down anyone?

Yesterday we were looking for sculptures, and during this hunt, we found this wonderful place!

It is well worth a visit!

ARTIST'S STATEMENT

I make several different kinds of art in SL. My main form is Immersive Art, so-called because the viewer is meant to enter the work either by avatar or camera. The art is made of nested prims, digital textures, and scripts. Many of the builds have poses and sounds in them. The point of the art is the kaleidoscopic interaction of the textures, as well as the different moods expressed in the pieces. Some of the sculptures emit extra-large particles, which are actually highly-detailed digital drawings.

Musical Kinetics are a collaboration between artist Alizarin Goldflake and musician Flivelwitz Alsop. The series was inspired by the art and music of five Asian countries: China, Japan, India, Tibet, and Mongolia. Amazingly, the complex compositions were all created with the little 10 second sound loops that SL allows. Walk up close to each piece to activate the music. These pieces are essentially 3-D collages using textures, scripts, and particles.

2-D Digital Collages are made in RL based on a creative approach I discovered making art in SL. The approach is called process art, and the main characteristic of it is the fact that the end result is not envisioned at the beginning but arises spontaneously from the process of combining and composing visual elements.

RL Digital Drawings are done just like traditional drawings except that I use digital tools, including a software program called Corel Painter 11 and a pressure-sensitive digitizing tablet and stylus. As I draw, the tablet and stylus electronically translate the motions of my hand into strokes that look as though they were made with the drawing tool I have selected (charcoal pencil or pastel, for example). I see these strokes occurring real-time on my monitor. Jpgs of the very large drawings are imported at 1024x1024 into SL.

Kinetic Sculpty Art is 3-D art made from sculpty line drawings embellished with particles and scripted textures.

Regardless of the form. each piece of my art comes from and is intended to share an experience of visual , emotional, and spiritual intensity.

Ladies and gents, boys and gurls, welcome to our show!

Saturday 13 February, we will open the doors to our new ballroom. It is a copy of the Blue Hall in Stockholm City Hall. Here will our large events take place. The Blue Hall will completely replace the previous spherical ballroom. Here will i.e our ABBA shows take. We will also have jazz and evergreens events in the Blue Hall and other artists that we want to share with you. AND all coming themed parties of course!

In the basement of the Blue Hall we have built a wonderful SUGGESTIVE 1920´s theater (The Kit Kat Klub) where we will have burlesque shows from that timeperiod!

People will talk about those shows, believe me .... hehe. So make sure you wont miss the premiere!


On Icetheatre SL, we will continue to have smaller events. Clubnights will take place at the Ichehotel SL, as they do today.

Anyway we have to open this properly! The opening party will take place on Saturday 13 February.

02:00 starts the show at the Kit Kat Klub. The show is directed by Ewa and Jesper. Indeed heavily influenced by one of the really big and well-known musicals/shows. This will be unbelievably good! We have rehearsed for hours!

03:00, one of SL's best jazz singers will entertain us and our friends at the Blue Hall.

Be here in time, we will strongly limit the number of avis (40 max) We will not allow lag destroying this wonderful evening for you!

Non stop

We do not have much to write about right now ... We are building non-stop. Well anyway, yesterday we were listening to a smooth jazz singer. Shasta Soul Star, she will soon you will see from us. She was indeed good!

The other day, so came the wedding cards. It is our old friend Music Hyun who has photographed. She is talented isn't she?

Full speed ahead!

We are in full swing to build new "ballroom" of the Icehotel SL and to plan for the opening party!

Both the party and the ballroom will be very special. And special things take time!

Therefore, we will suspend all events this week (Abba and Foam Party). Saturday's concert with Noma Falta, however, will take place somewhere on the buildingsite, sorry Lapplandia I mean:)

Lapplandia is closed until we are reasonably finished. Sarek is open as usual!

Use your brain

You who know Ewa and me know we do not judge people. We have an open mind and are curious about everything that this second life has to offer. We try as best we can to respect others and learn from the differences that exist.

We have no comprehensive regulatory framework that some other sim owners have, we have just one simple rule for our sims: Use your brain! Easily summarized: you can do whatever you want as long as you do not disturb the peace of others.

But coming to us watching a Elvera Lerner concert as a "normal" avatar and then "switch down" to a child avi and start sucking your thumb in front of the stage is NOT TO USE THE BRAIN.

You will not be warned, you go out right away! We do not need to explain why you go out. And we will also not apologizing for that we sent you off. You can call us dictators, assholes, and more. We couldnt care less!

Tomorrow it is time to once again take on the bikini. Then it's time for FOAMPARTY at Club Copenhagen (Icehotel SL).

Jesper will be playing the latest club hits, and Ewa will shore up the whole thing with happy cries:)
